In an error-strewn game - and with a minor controversy concerning batting orders - the Sluggers nearly threw away a commanding 9-3 lead in the top of the 6th as the Renegades made it appear closer than it really was.

In an unconventional 16-batter (6 DHs) lineup, a case of nervousness was shattered by Slugger Fan Gardyn as the Premier All-Stars came from behind to beat the Division I All-Stars in a game that no one would have predicted would be so close.

A 2-RBI double in the top of the 7th came too late and one run short for the Sluggers to make a last-gasp effort to pull this game out of the bag as the Kegs held their nerve for their fifth win of the season and third place in the Leinster League's Premier Division.

In a 180-degree turnaround from last week, the Sluggers pressured the Batpak to hit while 4 Batpak starters were on vacation. It took less than an hour to find out that defense can win games for the Sluggers.

As the rain fell and bats flew, the Sluggers were given a 4th-inning reprieve as the game was called due to unsafe conditions against the Batpak at a soggy ALSAA sports complex.
